How reliable are your refrigerators?
The question was posed in an ABC News.com poll conducted by online pollster eMarketer.
In the poll, respondents were asked whether or not their refrigerator was the best choice to replace the refrigerator of their favorite celebrity.
The poll also asked, “Do you think your refrigerator is the best refrigerator for the type of food you eat, or the type you buy in the grocery store?”
The results of the poll showed that 82% of respondents said their refrigerator is most reliable.
Other findings: Nearly two-thirds of Americans surveyed said their fridge was “very reliable.”
That includes 92% of women, 89% of men, and 79% of Millennials.
Only 20% of people ages 18-24 said their refrigerators were “very unreliable.”
A majority of people who said they would never buy a new refrigerator reported that their refrigerator had become less reliable in the past year.
Nearly three-quarters of respondents (73%) said they had never replaced their refrigerator.
Seventy-one percent of people surveyed said they were “not too worried” about replacing their refrigerator, compared to just 27% of those surveyed who said the same about a new car.
More:The poll results were released just weeks after a nationwide survey by the American Society of Consumer Electronics found that the average consumer is only 2.4% more likely to buy a replacement refrigerator than a brand new refrigerator.
The study also found that, overall, more Americans are using an appliance that comes with a warranty than are buying a brand-new refrigerator.
